Top Ten Tuesday ~ Summer TBR
I have a stack of books begging me to read them this summer. Some are light and breezy some are a little bit heavier. And, for the first time ever, I will get to read on an airplane. I'm all kinds of excited about that. The last time I rode on a plane I had a two year old, and didn't even think about reading. She is now thirteen. That's how much I get out. Here are some books I am hoping to get to during the summer months.

Quick Lit ~ June
My reading has slowed down a little lately. I have been struggling to find books that really hold my attention. I also have a growing stack of books that I have been saving for the summer months that I am itching to read. Maybe I should just go ahead and get my summer reading under way. It's certainly hot enough already. Here are a few books that enjoyed and am currently enjoying.
Just finished:
I loved the WW1 story line. The contemporary story line was good too, but wanting to find out what happened to Sophie was what kept me going. Not the greatest duel timeline book I have read, but still very good.
Currently reading:
I am pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying this one. There's lots of action and political intrigue. It is YA, but it reads well. I don't feel like I'm being talked down to like some YA novels. It has really complicated love story as well.
I'm only a few chapters into this one. I'll devote my full attention to it when I'm finished with The Winner's Curse. This is a big, creepy house story, and I love big, creepy house stories.
This is my nonfiction for June. I'm reading a chapter a day. It is a little deeper than I thought it would be, which is nice.
I'm reading this one at the gym, so it's going to take a while. I love the writing style and the small town WW2 setting, but the characters are rubbing me the wrong way.

When will it release? July 21, 2015
Why am I waiting? I read this series years ago. I'm pretty sure it went out of print. Enclave has brought them back, and they are releasing book four. I'm so excited. There were so many potential story lines at the end of book three. I have already pre-ordered this one.

Book Review: A Flying Affair
I think I have read all of Carla Stewart's books so far, and this is one of my favorites. I loved the heroine and her dedication to flying. She was very adventurous and headstrong with out being annoying. The romance took a backseat to the adventures that Mittie went on to pursue her dream of becoming an aviatrix. I learned a lot about the early days of aviation and also about horse showing which was Mittie's other passion. I would highly recommend this book to fans of historical fiction and romance. It was lots of fun.

When does it release? It came out yesterday, but I don't have it yet.
Why am I waiting? The book was enjoyable enough, but the ending! Huge cliffhanger!

Top Ten Tuesday ~ Series That Would Make Great TV Shows
Here are some series I think would make great TV shows. I'd watch them. I picked out a few for my mom, husband and daughters as well.
My mom loves these books.
There are so many books in the Baxter family series, there would be plenty of material to work with.
These books feature a quirky and diverse group of ladies. The inner city Chicago setting makes it even more interesting.
These are my husband's favorite books. He says they should be made into a TV show. Think Game of Thrones, but a little more family friendly.
Another one of my mom's favorites. She compares Ivy Malone to Jessica Fletcher.
There are only two books in the Darling Family series so far, but there is lots of drama already. The small coastal Maine town would make a great setting.
The Fairlawn Trilogy holds a special place in my heart. It feature a great heroine, a small town in Florida, and a family owned funeral home.
I asked my younger daughter what books she would pick for a TV show, and she said The Sister's Grimm.
She also picked The Books of Elsewhere series.
The Selection series would be a great YA series. The costumes would be beautiful.
