Well, March has certainly been a month! I hope you are healthy and finding a way to manage through all of this uncertainty. I am trying to enjoy the slower pace this has brought to my life, and trying not to focus too much on the news and the things that are beyond my control. I was able to read a few books this month, and enjoyed all of them. Here are my thoughts on them.
The Dearly Beloved
This was a heavy book. I'm glad I read it early in the month. The writing was excellent, but the characters were extremely frustrating. I'm not sure why you would become a pastor if you didn't believe in God, but that's what happened. There was a sense of hopelessness throughout the book, which was sad, and also an obvious lack of Christ. The religious aspects of the book were much more universalist than Presbyterian or even generally Christian. If your looking for a book about friendship, this is a good one. If your looking for a book about the Christian faith, I would recommend you pass.

Things You Save in a Fire
This book was positively delightful. Katherine Center does such a good job of rolling difficult topics into sweet, fun, emotional stories. I loved the main character, too. This book was a little spicier than what I usually read, but not so much that it bothered me or took away from the story. Highly recommended if you enjoy contemporary chick lit or romance, and don't mind some adult content.

Tidelands
This was the book that kept my reading total low this month. This baby was long, but I was in the mood for some epic, family centered, historical fiction. The setting was the English Civil War which doesn't get a lot love, so that was fun. The main character was incredible. I can't wait to see where her story leads. I'm looking forward to reading this series as it comes out.
Chasing Vines
This was my non fiction read for March. I enjoyed it. There are a lot of parallels to vinyards and the Christian life. If you're a fan of Beth Moore you will love it.
I'm probably going to focus on comfort reading in April, and maybe give a few of the review books that are back logged on my Kindle a try. I just downloaded an ecopy of my favorite author's new book, so I'm really looking forward to that. What books are getting you through these days? Let me know in the comments
