ARC August ~ Week 2
I had a great first week of August. I completed and reviewed two ARCs and started a third. I hope to finish and review at least one book this week. I did a little research and realized all of my remaining review books are over three-hundred fifty pages. A little on the longish side. Here is this weeks wrap up.

Book Review: Hope Harbor
This was a really great summer read. It had a sweet romance with well rounded characters. It took a little while for the characters to get together, which was nice. There was also a side story about a mother and her estranged son that was heart warming. The themes of forgiveness and second chances gave it a little more depth than your average contemporary romance. I'm not sure if this is a stand alone or the first book in a series, but I would enjoy reading more books set in this town.
I would recommend it to readers who enjoy romance or who have enjoyed other books by this author.

Book Review: Luther and Katharina by Jody Headlund
I love a good fictional biography, so when I saw that this one was available, I snatched it up. I remember covering Martin Luther in history class, but I had no idea he was married...to a nun. I found this whole story fascinating. The book is a bit on the long side, but the story moves at a really good pace. It was a very romantic and slightly steamy read.
I thought Katharina was a good match for a rather grumpy Martin Luther. She was smart and out spoken. She stood toe to toe with him and had him scratching his head on several occasions. They had very good chemistry together. There is also a lot of action and suspense throughout the book. They were living through very turbulent times, and Luther was a wanted man. Some of the actions of the Catholic church are hard to read about, but I appreciate the research and attention to detail Ms. Headlund included in her novel.
I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy historical romance and historical fiction about real characters. It was an excellent historical biography.

Waiting on Wednesday ~ The Sea Keeper's Daughters

When does it release? September 1, 2015
Why am I waiting? I am loving this series so much that I requested the ARC and preordered the ebook. Each book is a stand alone with a contemporary and historical time line. Lisa Wingate is becoming a new favorite author.

ARC August Week 1
ARC August officially started on Saturday, and I have made a little progress in a couple of ARC's. I hope to have both of these books finished up and reviewed this week. I am loving this month long challenge. I feel a lot less rushed than the one week challenges, and I feel like a large TBR is within my reach.
