Top Ten Tuesday ~ Things That Make Me Happy

Here are some bookish things that make me happy.

~ Going to the library. Especially if they have books for me at the front desk.

~ My favorite authors releasing new books.

~ Other people's TBRs

~ The bookshelves my husband made for me.

~ Getting books in the mail. I use Paperback Swap a lot.

~ Finding books I know my mom will love.

~ When my 14 year old finds a new series she loves. She is very hard to please.

~ Finding a book from my wishlist on sale.

~ When Overdrive buys the books I have requested. It makes me feel really special.

~ Cover reveals.

Book Haul ~ April

There were a lot of really good sales this month. I think I say that every month. I got several Kindle books for cheap, and my library had a small sale in their lobby. That was fun. Here are the books I bought recently.

I'm planning to read the Lisa Wingate series this summer while I'm on vacation. I started collecting physical copies of Susan Meissner's books recently, and I actually have a couple more on the way to me. And I'm getting several more books through Paperbackswap soon. I may have to do another haul.

Quick Lit ~ April

Here are some of the books I have been reading lately, and what I thought about them.

Station Eleven

I ended up enjoying this one. The story really picked up about halfway through. It can be bleak at times, because of the subject matter, but the story was interesting. 

Annabel Lee

This was an enjoyable thriller. I liked all the Edgar Allen Poe references. The end was a little odd, and kind of creepy, but the rest of the story made up for it. 

The Bachelor Girl's Guide to Murder

This was a fun, light-hearted, mystery set in 1910 Toronto. I'll definitely be picking up the next book when it comes out.
