February Wrap Up

I read some great books this month. I'm right on pace to make my 2019 goal of 75 books. I also have a personal goal to read one nonfiction every month and one audio book every month. I'm on track with those goals, too. Here are my books for February and what I thought about them.

In the Shadow of Croft Towers

I'm a sucker for Regency novels. This one had a really great mystery and great characters. The story kept me guessing the whole time. I'm excited to have another Regency author to read. I would recommend this books to readers who love historical romance and mystery. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. The Line Between I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced thriller. Tosca Lee gives us a glimpse at how a nation wide epidemic could happen and how everyone would react. I also enjoyed the look at life in a religious cult. The cut leader was creepy and realistic. I would recommend this book to readers that enjoy end of the world fiction and suspenseful stories. I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley for the pupose of review. The Lost Girls of Paris This was an interesting look at espionage during World War 2. I loved the characters and all the intrigue. The training process was fascinating. I thought the two romances were done well, but I don't really feel the story needed them. The main character stood well on her own. I was much more interested in the story that took place during the war than the one that took place after the war, but they were both interesting enough to keep me turning the pages. I recommend this book for readers that enjoy World War 2 fiction and spy stories. I received a copy of this book for free from Netgalley for review.  Meet Me at the Museum I have mixed feelings about this one. I listened to it on audio and enjoyed the narration. I think it helped get me through some of the more tedious descriptions. There was a lot of regret and grief in this book, and that's always hard to read about. There is also emotional infidelity which I have strong feelings about. I'm not sure I would recommend it. It was just ok for me. Help My Unbelief This was my nonfiction for the month. I though it was a really good look at "inherited faith". Growing up in the church presents its own faith challenges. The author does a good job showing what faith looks like and explaining the tension between faith and doubt. Highly recommended for those who were born into Christian families or have been saved for a long time and struggle with doubt. Once Upon a River This novel was beautiful and atmospheric. I enjoyed watching the mystery unfold. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy stories with fairy tale-like qualities. How was your reading month? Let me know in the comments.
