Book Review ~ Waves of Mercy by Lynn Austin

Waves of Mercy

I really enjoyed this book. Lynn Austin writes such great fiction. Her characters are deep with real feelings and problems. I loved to see the growth that all of the characters went through. This book had lots of family secrets that kept me guessing. It also has strong themes of faith, loyalty and the importance of obedience.  My understanding is that this is a stand alone novel, but I am really hoping for a sequel. I would love to spend more time with these characters, and see one of the major story lines wrapped up. I highly recommend this book to lovers of historical fiction and family drama.  I received this book from the publisher for the purpose of review.

Top Ten Tuesday ~ Favorite Villains

This was a hard one. I read  lot of historical fiction that doesn't really have traditional bad guys. Still, I was able to find a few books with traditional, and not so traditional, villains.

Book Haul ~ October

Here's all the new books I got over the last month.

I'm really excited to read Newton and Polly and Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Gray. I've already read You're the Cream in my Coffee. It was very cute. I won To Have and to Hold and Victoria in Goodreads giveaways. I've been having really good luck with those lately. I'm planning to start the Raleigh Harmon series soon. My mom loves it, and I like to have books I can discuss with her.

It's been a rough couple of weeks.

I live in Florida. It's hot.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go?

 

I think Italy would be beautiful.

Your favorite form of transportation.

I don't really like to fly, but it's faster than driving.

Your best friend is?

My husband.

What's the weather like?

There wasn't a title that said "it's still so freakin hot!"

Your fear?

I'm afraid of being a little pitchy when I sing in public.

What's the best advice you have to give?

However far you've gone, God's always there waiting.

Talk less. Listen more.

How would you like to die?

How I die doesn't matter cuz I know where I'm going.

Your soul's present condition.

God's mercy is overwhelming.
