December Wrap Up
The year is over and I'm finally getting around to my monthly wrap up. I hope you had a lovely holiday season, and I hope you read some great books. Here are the books I closed out the year with.
I've read this book several times, and it's one of my all time favorites. The historical timeline is told through diary entries. It's very foreboding and heavy, so if you like only like lighter reads, it may not be for you. But, if you're in the mood, it's amazing. I especially recommend it for fans of Jaime Jo Wright.
This was also a reread. I love this WW1 love story. It's told entirely through letters and reminds me of Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Highly recommended.
This was my devotional for the Advent season. I've read it for three years in a row, and it's always fresh and new with every reading. This year I paired it with a reading of the book of Luke. I'm planning on doing that again next year.
This book, OY! Let me start out by saying that the writing and the mystery kept me interested the whole time. Unfortunately, there was a very perverted character and several scenes that involve a child that left me feeling really icky. There's also a very violent animal death that comes out of no where. I don't know that I can really recommend this book based on those things, and I certainly don't recommend it of those triggers bother you.
This was my last read of the year. It was quick and fun and a nice way to wrap things up. Recommended if you like sibling stories or family dramas that aren't too heavy or dreary. This one also had lots of yummy food in it too.
