As Bright as Heaven

Why am I waiting? Susan Meissner is an auto buy author for me. I love her writing style. I got an early copy through Book of the Month Club, and I'm loving it so far.

2018 Reading Goals

The Bout of Books challenge for today is 2018 reading goals. Every year I say I'm not going to do a lot of reading goals, and every year I do them anyway. Here are some things I hope to accomplish this year in my reading life.

Read eighty-five books. My goal last year was seventy, and I completed it easily. I thought I would raise the bar a little higher this year, but still have a doable number.

Complete the Modern Mrs. Darcy reading challenge. I completed the challenge fairly easily last year. This year I have a strategy: read the books for the harder challenges first.

Read more back list books. Last year I mostly read 2017 releases. This year I want to read fewer new releases and more books that have been out for a while. One of the ways I'm going to do this is by cutting out publisher reviews. I love to get free books, but I hate feeling pressure to get a book read in a certain amount of time.

Read twelve physical books from my unread book shelf. I read a total of ten physical books last year and almost all of them were library books. What can I say? I love my Kindle. I'm hoping to make a good dent in the books on my shelf this year. I'm using #theunreadshelfproject2018 on Instagram to keep me motivated.

Have you made any reading goals this year? Let me know in the comments. I'm linking up with Artsy Reader Girl to share my goals on Top Ten Tuesday.

Top Ten Tuesday ~ Ten Books I Didn't Read in 2017

I'm linking up with The Broke and the Bookish for this week's top ten list

I read 85 books in 2017 which is a lot. I read most of the books on my most anticipated reads list, but there were a few that slipped through the cracks. Here are the books I didn't get to last year that I hope to get to this year.
