Stacking the Shelves ~ November Edition

Here are the books I got last month. You might want to get a snack, cuz this is going to take awhile.

Ebooks:

Some of these were freebies. There were also a lot of great Kindle sales. I was able to complete a couple of series and get some books that had been on my wish list for a while.

Used Books:

I got the Sarah Joi books at my local used book store. The Bean Trees and The Last Dance came from  a used book sale at my church.

Paperback Swap:

I don't know much about Miss Fortune. It was a spontaneous purchase. I have been enjoying Historical mysteries lately, so I thought I would give it a try. I forgot I had the ebook of The Silent Order, so I will probably put it back in the PBS system after the holidays.

Waiting on Wednesday ~ Like a Flower in Bloom by Siri Mitchell

When is it being released? January 6, 2015

Why am I waiting? I love Siri Mitchell's books. I don't know much about this one, but she hasn't disappointed me yet. And the cover is lovely.

Top Ten Tuesday ~ Characters That Deserve Their Own Books

Today's top ten is characters that need their own book. This is an interesting topic. There are always characters in the back ground that are some what mysterious. Here are a few that I feel have a story to tell.

 This series focused on Susan Mitchell, but I would love to learn more about what happened to her son Jake after the series was over. I also would like a prequel about her husband Mark and his early days in our reality. And I think Kieran and Nolan deserve their own book as well.

 Aunt Birdie is a charming, loveable character. I would love a prequel focusing on her love story, but I would need to keep the tissues handy.

 Etzel Stifflebeam and Mina Klug need their own story. And it better be a romance. That's all I'm sayin'.

 I loved this book, but I really feel like there was a lot of story left to tell. Elin, Kirsten and Sofia each need their own book.

I'm kind of excited about this list, because I have been rereading books lately. I want to be purposeful next year about rereading some old favorites, too. So, here some books I would like to read again.

Do you like to Reread books, or are you a one time only reader? I'm usually a one timer, but I find as I get older, I forget a lot of the details. I'm looking forward to refreshing my memory with these.

Book Review ~ Where Treetops Glisten

 I saw this book around on different message board, and I thought it looked really good. It is a collection of three novellas following the Turner siblings as they serve their country and live their lives during WW2.

In White Christmas, Abigail Turner has sworn off love after her boyfriend was killed in Pearl Harbor. Then she meets a man who needs her help to solve a mystery.In I'll Be Home for Christmas, Pete Turner tries to show a young widow that he isn't the bully that she remembers from childhood. The final story, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, takes us to war torn Europe where Merry Turner is trying to forget that the love of her life was a traitor.

Each of the novellas is written by a different author, but they tie together very well. I think I enjoyed I'll Be Home for Christmas the most out of the three. All of the stories deal with themes of loss and redemption. They are the perfect short reads for the Christmas season. I recommend this book for readers of romance and historical fiction.
