My Life According to Literature

I got this idea from Carrie at Reading is My Super Power. I thought it looked fun. I'll be using Christian fiction titles to answer all of the questions.

How do you feel today?
Disillusioned
It's been a rough couple of weeks.

Describe where you currently live.
Burning Sky
I live in Florida. It's hot.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
 Taking Tuscany (A.J., #2)
I think Italy would be beautiful.

Your favorite form of transportation.
A Flying Affair
I don't really like to fly, but it's faster than driving.

Your best friend is?
It Had to Be You (Christiansen Family, #2)
My husband.

What's the weather like?
Barefoot Summer (Chapel Spring, #1)
There wasn't a title that said "it's still so freakin hot!"

Your fear?
Just Shy of Harmony (Harmony, #2)
I'm afraid of being a little pitchy when I sing in public.

What's the best advice you have to give?
Return to Me (The Restoration Chronicles #1)
However far you've gone, God's always there waiting.

Thought for the day?
Listen
Talk less. Listen more.

How would you like to die?
She's in a Better Place (Fairlawn, #3)
How I die doesn't matter cuz I know where I'm going.

Your soul's present condition.
Waves of Mercy
God's mercy is overwhelming.

That was a lot of fun, and a lot of typing. I'm not a big fan of the typing. Make sure you check out Carrie's post, and let me know of you do this tag on your blog.

Book Review ~ The Cautious Maiden Dawn Crandall

The Cautious Maiden (The Everstone Chronicles #4)

The Cautious Maiden is the fourth book in The Everstone Chronicles. This book is about Vance and Violet. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these characters. After The Bound Heart, I was very interested to see where Vance's character was going to go. I was really impressed with is journey from scoundrel to knight in shining armor. His love for violet was deep and genuine. I was glad she got her happy ending.

The romance is hot and heavy at times, but both characters show restraint. Abstinance is an important part of the story. The faith elements are very well done with references to scripture and and traditional hymns throughout. Themes of forgiveness and redemption are woven in beautifully. I would recommend this book, and the rest of the series, to readers who enjoy historical romance.

I received this book for free from the publisher for the purpose of review.

Quick Lit ~ September

I reads six books over the past month. Participating in Bout of Books was a big help in bumping up my book count a little bit. Here are the books I read this past month and what I thought about them.

Dawn at Emberwilde (Treasures of Surrey, #2)

Book two in the Treasures of Surrey series, but it can be read on it's own. I really enjoy the style of writing, and the slightly creepy story line. If you enjoy British period dramas, you should give this one a try. Very enjoyable.

Disillusioned

This was a quick romantic suspense. I did a review here.

The Lady and the Lionheart

This was a really well written historical romance. I loved the characters and the circus setting. It had a bit of a beauty and the beast vibe going on. I definitely want to pick up more by this author. Highly recommended.

A Heart Most Certain (Teaville Moral Society #1)

I read a lot of historical romances this month. I enjoyed this one, too. I did a full review here.

A Lesson in Love and Murder (Herringford and Watts Mysteries, #2)

I'm loving this cute, quirky Sherlockian style series. I did a full review here.

I Let You Go
I Let You Go

This book was so good. Very twisty. I can't say much without giving away spoilers, but if you are looking for something fast paced and unexpected, you should give this one a try.

Shadow of the Storm (Out From Egypt, #2)
